Deportation Defense
Fighting Deportation
For many immigrants, the nightmare that is the deportation process can begin with something as benign as a traffic stop. Simple traffic violations, DUI or other relatively minor legal difficulties can lead to being held at a detention center while awaiting deportation.
Louisiana is unique in that it is one of the deportation hubs in the United States. Many people are sent to the LaSalle Detention Facility for processing prior to deportation. The remote location of that facility and the small number of lawyers who are located nearby make it difficult to secure representation for some detainees.
An Effective Advocate Can Make Your Case Stand Out
The judges who hear these cases hear approximately 5,000 cases every year. This makes it especially important that you have an advocate who can call attention to your situation and who can help the judge see why you should not be deported. We also assist with cases where ICE does all of the processing and no judge is involved.
